Healthcare is a highly data-intensive business. Any data breach of sensitive patient information would not only erode our patients’ trust in us and compromise our reputation, it will, more critically, also affect our ability to deliver quality care.

At IHH Healthcare, we use data for research, innovation, business and operations improvement, business development and investment purposes, which ultimately helps us save lives and advance medical care.

We aim to keep improving on cybersecurity by aligning ourselves with the ISO27001 standard for IHH Healthcare critical systems. We also aim to engender greater trust by substantially aligning ourselves with the APEC Cross-Border Privacy Rules (CBPR) System.

  • Cyber defense software & hardware deployed for IT system protection, with an organisation-wide email security program against phishing attacks.
  • Central Security Operations Centre monitors and detects hacking attempts.
  • Assurance & verification program conducts extensive security testing.
  • Regular internal & external security audits.
  • Cyber crisis response exercises for preparedness.
  • Training on data privacy & cybersecurity for employees.

In 2022, 100% of our employees across the entire Group completed a Personal Data Protection Basics course. In the area of cybersecurity, we conducted a group-wide information security awareness training for all employees, as well as cyber crisis response exercises in Singapore and Malaysia.

Central Security Operations Centre Established

In 2022, we established a central Security Operations Centre that went fully operational. This unit provides 24/7 monitoring for threat detection and proactive threat hunting, as well as coordination, support and crisis services to IHH Healthcare units in the event of a cyber-incident.
